Isaac Oliver (c. 1565–1617) was one of the finest painters at the courts of Elizabeth I and James I, best known for exquisitely detailed portrait miniatures. The famous Rainbow Portrait of Elizabeth I, with its lace ruff, pearls and golden cloak of eyes and ears, is attributed to him.
