Kawase Hasui was the great master of the shin-hanga woodblock print, and this snowy temple scene shows red-painted buildings beneath branches heavy with snow, with a lone figure on the path. This small mini captures the hush of a Japanese winter in a quick, peaceful stitch.

We give you two symbol size options so you can stitch the way you love.
Standard Symbols – A little bigger than the usual charts, these fit more of the pattern on each A4 page. Perfect if you like fewer pages and are comfy with regular-sized symbols.
Large Symbols – Around 30% bigger, making them super easy on the eyes. They do take up more pages, but many stitchers find them much more relaxing to follow.
Note: Bundled Sets may not include the option of Larger Symbols.
Unfortunately for digital downloads, we have a no-return policy. However if there is an issue with your chart, do let us know and we will replace the chart for you.

About the artist
Kawase Hasui (1883–1957) was the undisputed master of 20th-century Japanese woodblock printmaking — an artist whose shin-hanga prints of rain-swept temples, moonlit harbours, snow-covered shrines, and misty mountain villages captured the beauty of Japan with a lyrical delicacy and atmospheric depth that made him one of the most beloved printmakers in Japanese history.

Customers praised this cross stitch pattern for its excellent quality and easy-to-follow charts. One customer noted the patterns are "well presented" and work beautifully for both traditional cross stitch and petit point adaptations, demonstrating versatility across different needlework techniques.
Hi Lauren - I haven’t begun to do this yet but all the previous patterns I have had from you have been excellent. I don’t actually do them in Stitch I do them in petit point, so they take me a little longer, I find your charts easy to follow and well presented.
This looks great--can't wait to try it.
