Daniel Froeschl

Daniel Fröschl (circa 1572–1613) was a German painter and draftsman, recognized for his contributions during the late Renaissance period. Born in Augsburg, Germany, he later became associated with the court of Emperor Rudolf II in Prague, serving as a court painter.

FrĂśschl's artistic oeuvre includes religious themes, portraits, and still lifes. Notable works attributed to him are "The Virgin and Child in a Landscape" and Die drei Marien am Grabe (The Three Marys at the Tomb). His style reflects the intricate detailing and rich coloration characteristic of late Renaissance art.

In contemporary times, FrÜschl's works have inspired various cross-stitch patterns, allowing art enthusiasts to recreate his pieces through needlework. For instance, Sunflower and Sunflower Seen from the Back are among his paintings that have been adapted into cross-stitch designs.
